What is Musical.ly ?

Musically is a popular lip-syncing app. It was created by Alex Zhu and Luyu Yang. Creator team desired to combine music, videos and a social network to attract teens. After working on it they launched Musical.ly in July 2014. It has been very popular since that time. Its user rate is quite a lot and as Zhu said, ‘’You can buy the users, but you can’t buy the user retention.’’

It is a quite popular app that you might come across it on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter etc. You can record yourself by lip syncing, share your own video on different social platforms and browse other people’s work. Musically has color filters and you can change your videos’ color as you wish. You can also mix your music with someone else’s video.

It is very simple to get the app, first of all you need to download it from Google Play Store and click the pink plus button to start. Musical.ly has an online library of the top and you can choose from there. Songs are categorised as hip hop, comedy, movie dialogue and etc. It is also possible choosing songs from your music library.

It has privacy settings part and you can change your settings as you desire. Privacy settings include ‘’animated thumbnails, only friends can direct.ly me, hide location info and private account.’’

Blocking some profiles on that app is possible. You might come across some irritating users and want to block their profile or report abuse. In that case all you have to do is, going to their profile; press on the ‘…’ in the right corner and blocking their profiles. It is also possible unblocking from the same page. By clicking the 3 dots in the right column of the video you can click report abuse.

From the Follow tab you can see videos from the users you follow. Every musically videos shows the user’s username, caption, name of the song and artist. You can also see the popular videos and profiles belonging to users on Musical.ly. Before starting to create videos you need to create your own profile first and you can design it as you wish.

As a reminder it is not possible deleting your Musical.ly account, of course you can delete your app from your device but others will still see your videos on that app.

Some users like having more followers to become more popular, there are some tips that you can use to get more fans. By click the ‘’leader board’’ button on the search page, you will reach the top users. You need to click one of them and click – unclick the ‘’following’’ button few times. By doing this your fans will be rolling on in.

When you find your video too long to watch, you can cut it out. After prepare your record you need to click the scissors icon from the right corner and cut the video as you wish.

No surprise that it is popular among the teens since, they like being popular on social media and Musical.ly make it quite easy while having so much fun.
